Issues Overview

The physical size and location of many of the Small Island States makes them uniquely vulnerable to the environmental challenges facing the world. The issues highlighted here affect all people around the world, but are especially pressing for the Small Island States and threaten the livelihoods of their residents. In the case of sea level rise, the very existence of some Small Island States may hang in the balance.
