Graham Erion is an attorney with the law firm of Torys LLP in Toronto, Canada where he practices corporate and energy law. Graham received his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto and he also has a Masters in Environmental Studies from York University.
In addition to his professional work, Graham works with a number of environmental organizations in Canada and abroad on climate matters including the Climate Change Lawyers Network, the Canadian Youth Climate Coalition, the Sierra Club of Canada, and the Durban Group for Climate Justice. In addition, Graham has provided provided pro bono legal assistance to the Aguinda v. Chevron case in Ecuador, one of the largest environmental claims in history with petroleum damages assessed at higher than $27 billion USD. Graham also worked pro bono on the Richtersveld case in South Africa, one of Africa's largest land claims cases ever involving 194,600 hectres of land and R240 million in reparations.
Graham has also published a number of articles and books on climate change, including mostly recently, Climate Change, Carbon Trading, and Civil Society (2008: University of Amsterdam Press.)--which is in its second edition.
